What to image tonight

Pick a target with enough time in the dark for a useful run. Browse Tonight, This week or In season, or search 13,000+ objects. Rankings weigh dark hours and altitude alongside the Moon, rig fit and imaging palette, with the general forecast included when available. It is an astronomical opportunity, not a weather verdict.

Narrow the list

Keep targets above 40°, choose those that transit in the dark, or stay 60° from the Moon. Filter by Hα, OIII or SII, as well as object type, size or surface brightness. Save up to 5 filter sets on your device.

Check the fit

“Fits my frame” filters for your rig, with “mosaics allowed” when you can use more than one panel. It does not cover nebulae, whose full extent is unverified. Once you have a target in mind, look at the framing.

Work out the capture

The target page shows a signal profile, recommended capture and the next four opportunities. Its integration plan suggests time for the whole project, split by filter, with sub length ranges. From there, plan the night and track your project. The forecast guide explains the weather side.
